Devotional Bible Lessons for Kids & Youth

Introduce real Bible hero characters to kids by using what they already know about comic book heroes!  Whether your helping your own child learn to dig into God's Word or want to use these to go along with some of our other themed lessons - "I Am Incredible" identity Bible lessons or our Armor of God lessons, these free printables will help you place God's Word into their hands, minds & hearts.

We all would love to see ourselves as a "super hero"!  Well, the real Super Man was "just" Clark Kent; the real Spider Man was "just" Peter Parker, etc.  - ordinary people with supernatural gifts/abilities.  God uses ordinary, unexpected people to do extraordinary spectacular feats!  The disciples were a motley crew that Jesus empowered to turn the world upside down, and He is able to do the same with us!

God did not create us to be a bunch of minions that look alike and live just to find an evil master to serve.  We are each a masterpiece created by the Creator of all to be uniquely who He has called us to be....His children.

Our focal verse for memory for these Bible hero lessons is Psalm 139:14, “I am fearfully and wonderfully made!”   Each of these Bible lessons for kids focuses on a special aspect of what our identity becomes when we trust Jesus.

Bible Hero Devotional

"Incredible Me" was our theme for our kids' camp a couple of years ago, and these are the Bible hero devotional lessons I wrote for it.  Feel free to use them at no cost, but please do not publish, copy or distribute in any way except for your small group.  Thanks!

A few include:

Spiderman (Peter Parker)

Bible Hero Peter

Bible Hero Moses

Bible Hero Samson

I printed the Bible hero devotions on card stock leaving the back for notes.

I then cut them apart, punched holes for the metal binder rings, and added the Minion devotion cover.  The cover may be laminated if you want it to last longer.

The smaller size and ability to flip back and forth made these easily portable for the kids at camp.

Each devotional also included the Gospel message and how to have a quiet time.  We used the first four Bible hero devotions at camp and then added the nine Armor of God devotions for youth to continue once at home in hopes of them developing an ongoing daily quiet time with God.

"Incredible kids" Lesson Plans:

These Bible hero devotionals corresponded with our "Incredible Me" Bible lessons for morning devotions and then to extend to take home Bible devotions.

  1. "I am Created"- I am incredible because God created me in His image!  Includes Bible verses from Psalm 139, Genesis & John with an object lesson & game!
  2. "I am Chosen" -  I am incredible because God loves me and has made a way for me to choose Him! A salvation focused lesson based on the life of David and how he was chosen but also chose God.
  3. "I am Christ's" - I am incredible because with Jesus I am never alone; He is always with me and makes me a part of God's family!  Based on the story of Ruth and Boaz.
  4. "I am Called" - I am incredible because God has a plan & purpose for my life! This is shown through the life of John the Baptist.  We make Jesus known to others!

Bible Hero Lessons

These seven Bible hero kids' lessons are included in the thirteen free Bible hero devotionals which are available to print with the "Incredible Me" devotional cover.

Special note: We do preview the websites to which we link, but are unable to peruse them completely. We try to check others' faith statements and make sure they do profess Jesus Christ as God's Son and salvation is found only in Him. It must, however, be your responsibility to personally dig into God's Word and allow the Holy Spirit to be your first and final teacher on all subjects.
