Summary
Christian Book for kids

Told from the view of a parent or caregiver, Big Bear shares how special God created Little Bear.  Big Bear remembers when Little Bear first came to their home and shares he/she was sent by God.

It begins...

Long, long ago God made a decision -

a very important decision...

one that I'm really glad He made.

He made the decision to make you.

As Little Bear grows they share so many wonderful activities such as reading books and fishing.  Little Bear learns to do new things, but even so some things never change.

Big Bear assures Little Bear he/she can always come to them even in the difficult times like when it's dark and they are afraid or at school and the other kids are mean.  God will also be with them watching over.

The book ends with Big Bear sharing what a wonderful place heaven is, a special place God has created.

This Christian book for kids opens up conversations about the Gospel and how God has made a way for us to be with Him in heaven together as we put our faith and trust in His Son, Jesus.

New Illustrations by Eve Tharlet

If you've ever wondered why children love books with animals as the characters, it may be because animals aren't distinguished by race or ethnicity.  Any and every child can connect and identify with these character illustrations.

I also love that the adult bear in this Christian book for kids could be a mom or dad, a grandmother or grandfather, or even a foster parent sharing their love and God's love with their special child.

Even the little bear could be male or female and basically any age unlike the previous illustrations where the child is a girl and shown as an infant in the beginning.

In addition to other changes, the illustrations of the setting of the book could be anywhere in the world!

I feel like this opens the doors for this unique Christian book for kids to be shared as a baby shower book or otherwise with all children whether they are born into a family, adopted or placed in a foster family.

Bible Lessons
Christian Book for Kids

This Christian book for kids already covers important facts about God and how very much He loves us; so below are Bible verses which you can read as you go along with the story or read aloud first and then go back and show your child these truths straight from God's Word.

1. God is our Creator.

  •  Genesis 2:4- 7 NLT - "This is the account of the creation of the heavens and the earth. When the Lord God made the earth and the heavens, 5 neither wild plants nor grains were growing on the earth. For the Lord God had not yet sent rain to water the earth, and there were no people to cultivate the soil. 6 Instead, springs came up from the ground and watered all the land. 7 Then the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person."
  • John 1:1-3 NLT - "In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He existed in the beginning with God. 3 God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone."

2. God made us each special and unique & has a plan for our life.

  • Psalm 139:13-16 NLT - "You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed."

3.  God is always with us.

  • Psalm 139: 7-12 NLT - "I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! 8 If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave,[a] you are there. 9 If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, 10 even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me. 11 I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night, 12 but even in darkness I cannot hide from you."
  • Hebrews 13:5b NLT - "For God has said, “I will never fail you.  I will never abandon you.”
  • Isaiah 41:10 NLT- "Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand."
  • Matthew 28:20 NLT - "Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

4. God has created a home for us in Heaven and invites us to come to Him.

  • John 14:1-6 NLT - “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. 2 There is more than enough room in my Father’s home.[a] If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?[b] 3 When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. 4 And you know the way to where I am going.” 5 “No, we don’t know, Lord,” Thomas said. “We have no idea where you are going, so how can we know the way?” 6 Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me."
