It's Almost Here!

Let's celebrate! My husband likes to say Easter is our Christian Super Bowl; it's the celebration of the most incredible win—the resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ! Easter is a wonderful time to share the Gospel; like Christmas, the meaning behind the holiday is already on people's minds. Gospel conversations are easier to start.

March Focus - Resurrection Day On the Way!

Make your Easter celebration a "Christian Easter!" Just like Christmas, Easter has become commercialized. We must keep Jesus at the center and teach our children the true meaning of Easter and the wonderful hope it holds.

There are many creative ideas to help us as Christian families, ministry leaders, or Sunday School teachers to incorporate fun while also instilling the Biblical message of Easter.

One way to make the Easter story fresh is using our interactive retelling straight from Scripture. We can also turn commercialization around and use the symbols of Easter that are displayed to share Jesus with our kids and others around us. For teachers we have Easter Bible lessons including object lessons for all ages, Easter devotions, games and more to help you share the Good News.

Families can incorporate the story of the resurrection with a Gospel egg instead of a golden egg for Easter egg hunts. Play games that point to Jesus or bake some resurrection rolls for Easter morning! All this and more can be found on our Easter Page!

A Personal Note

What's in a name? We all wear several "hats" or names. A few of mine include:

* “Pastor’s Wife”— For the last forty years, I have been blessed to be the wife and ministry partner of my husband along with having the joy of teaching the Bible to children, youth and women in the churches we have served.

* “Mom” – We have four grown kids who are gifts from God. They now live their lives from Louisiana to Texas to California. I’m very thankful for cell phones and modern transportation!

* “Mrs. Smart”—This is what children called me when I got the opportunity to be their school librarian, teacher or tutor through the years.

* “Suzie”—One of my favorites…because this is what our grandchildren call me!

* And finally, just “Susan”—I’m just an ordinary person walking life’s journey and often tripping over my own two feet, but I have a Savior named Jesus walking alongside me. He picks me up when I fall.

We are each more than what can be summed up by one name. Even more so, God's identity could never be wrapped up in a single name. Since the names of God reveal His character, we can use them to know Him better and call upon Him in prayer. There is something more intimate and personal when we use someone's name in conversation. The same is true when we come to God in prayer.

Here are just a few of the Bible names of God.
