Christmas Bible Scavenger Hunt
for Younger kids

For younger children, especially those who cannot read yet, prepare a Christmas Tree photo Bible scavenger hunt!

Take a photo of various ornaments on your Christmas tree for children to find.  Try to include those which can be connected to the true meaning of Christmas and share Scripture for each such as:

  • a round or circular ornament - A circle has no beginning or end just like God and just like His love.

Revelation 22:13 "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”

Isaiah 40:28 "The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth"

  • a red ornament - We think of red when we think of love.  God demonstrated His love by Jesus dying on the cross to shed His red blood for the forgiveness of our sin.

Romans 5:8  "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

Hebrews 9:12 "He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, thus obtaining[a] eternal redemption."

  • a star - The star in the East pointed the wisemen to Jesus.  When we look at the stars we can remember to point to Jesus and worship Him.

Matthew 2:1-2 "After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi[a] from the east came to Jerusalem  and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”

  • an ornament with a word on it - In John 1 Jesus is called The Word.  Just like when letters come together to form a word and have meaning, Jesus gives meaning for life.  Truly He is the reason for the season and for everything!

John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

Add others for fun and share the stories behind the ornaments; then share the true story behind the celebration of Christmas!

We try to check others' faith statements and make sure they do profess Jesus Christ as God's Son and salvation is found only in Him. It must, however, be your responsibility to personally dig into God's Word and allow the Holy Spirit to be your first and final teacher on all subjects.
